It has begun....A decade ago (although it seems like just yesterday) the mentality was do as I say, do your job, and then go home. Employees then tended to follow that without a second thought. Employees were happy to have a job and it was all about what the employer wanted done. Not any more! They used to accept stability, direction, and a paycheck. In today's workplace employees require growth, purpose, and recognition.

A shift has been made and the focus in the workplace has gone from employer to employee. If company and employee values do not line up, it is noticeable.

Employees ask themselves:

  • Does this company recognize me?

  • Am I even valued for what I do?

  • Why am I still here, if what I do doesn't matter?

Break Free: Create Alignment

What does alignment mean?

Alignment is everyone looking at the bigger picture and understanding roles; everyone being on the same page.

What happens when you achieve this alignment?

In short, companies maximize their profits and

employees stay focused, driven, and engaged.

What happens when there isn't alignment between employer and employee?

  • High Turnover

  • Low Productivity

  • Higher Expenses

  • Bad Employer Reviews on Job Boards

  • More Expensive to Recruit

  • Employees not caring about company goals, needs, or growth

63% of employees are not engaged

24% of employees are actively disengaged

Only 13% of employees are actively engaged in their work

Employers in today's workplace need to embrace this alignment, it's a huge factor in the companies SUCCESS ! But how do you shift into this positive alignment? That's a great question...

  • Actively recognize employee contributions & accomplishments

  • Make a point to be interested in employee enthusiasm & suggestions

  • Show your appreciation

  • Don't play telephone! Converse with your employees

  • Link efforts to goals

  • Make sure your efforts as an employer are simply & timely

  • Play on your employees strengths

  • Be transparent

This shift is not always easy, but with the right tools and coaching your employees can be great again!
